About the Festival
Location
Since its 10th season, the Michigan Shakespeare Festival has been performing indoors at the Michael Baughman Theater on the campus of Jackson Community College.
Plans are under way to find a permanent site on which to build an outdoor stage with cover for the audience. Until that dream can be realized the Festival has moved indoors beginning with the 2004 season. This move will eliminate inclement weather (and the threat of it) from the decision to attend a particular performance. The move will also provide audience amenities such as reserved seating and air conditioning.
Directions to the Baughman Theater
From U.S. 127: Turn west onto McDevitt Road. Drive approximately one mile to traffic light and turn left onto Hague Road. Travel approximately two miles to Emmons Road and turn right. Take Emmons Road to stop sign and turn left onto Browns Lake Road. Go approximately 500 yards to the Potter Center parking entrance on left.
